Can you believe its time for the May Sign Up!

I cant believe its time to sign up for the May challenge!

I havnt yet taken a pic of my April challenge!  So slack of me!

Anyway, this month is inserting a zip!

I might just keep it easy for me and make a little lined makeup case (thank you squidoo).

This is not a time consuming challenge, but for some this will be difficult, as zippers are often something that puts us off a pattern.  By starting on a small project I hope it will help some of us overcome our fear!

sing sign up now

I've always just winged it with zips. With varying levels of success. I will find some tutorials and have a go at doing it properly! Great incentive :)

I want to make a handbag with zippered pockets and zippered closure. Also some zip off cargos for my eldest...

Not too sure what I will make yet, but I am sure I can find something to put a zip in :)

Hmm, I am gearing up for my first fly zipper. Just need to get a zipper - I only have a stash of invisible zippers (the easiest ones around)

By the way where has the year gone? :)

I don't mind zips at all...I've done sooooo many.
Not sure what I'll do yet...Hey will replacing the zip in Hubby's coat qualify??!!
Otherwise, I'll just think of something else! Maybe a bag of some kind...hmmm...

I've done a few zips in my sewing adventures, but they are one of the things that still give me the 'yips'. I procrastinate and take an inordinate amount of time to set about doing it. I'm hoping with this challenge to 'like' zips a lot more! I'd also like to make a laptop bag...here goes...

Since I did a zipper on my lined project for April, this months Challenge should work too. - Kimberlee

I'm going to keep it simple as i don't have much spare time this month.. I am thinking of making a pencil case to hold the hundreds of pencils and crayons that are lying around the house! Look forward to seeing how everyone else gets on :-)

I really need more practice with zips, so far I think the least amount of attempts to get one in would be around 5 - would love to get one in first time!

I stumbled across your blog from someone else's today, and I love the idea of a challenge per month....I can deal with that...am going to be trying out a pleated zippered pouch for my entry....wish me luck, although I must admit, it's not my first time of putting a zip into a project....I have heaps of tute's if anyone needs ideas or tips on how to do them. Hugs Naomi the newbie.
