Anyone know how to take a photo of an active 2yo?

Well in our case, it means that you let them take a turn of the camera. (under my supervision!)
my turn:

my turn: yup we want the camera again!

These are also pics of the pleated skirt that I made for Lily.  It was rather east to do, the most painful part was ironing all the seam allowances inwards for the contrast fabric.  However this skirt is yet to be washed, and I am sure that it will need strict ironing to maintain the pleats!

I need some motivation!

I have a good friend who recently went on a lifestyle change.  She is looking absolutely fab-u-lous!  She is even fitting into 'those' jeans!

After I had my kids, I lost a lot of the weight.  Some of this was just through the stress of being a mum, and some was the breastfeeding.

After my last child.... I discovered chocolate!

And I know why I eat it,  I eat it coz its mine, coz I enjoy it, coz its one thing in my day that is predictable.  It helps me relieve my stress of having 4 young and challenging children.  I can do it quickly, I can do it on my own.

But my problem is now, that I have not lost that weight.  I am not fitting into those jeans, and generally not looking nice in any clothing.

Maybe I am lacking something, someone once told me that they craved chocolate when they were anaemic, I don't think I am anaemic though.

I need to find something else to replace the chocolate!

I don't need to lose a lot of weight, but enough that I want to fit into those jeans and generally be healthier.

Please I need some motivation!

TAGGED

Ive been tagged by Sara- from Willow and Moo, if you haven't seen her things before, head on over! Its an experience!

1. Which pattern/vintage style have you been thinking about lately?

Pinnis. Not sure what it is about them, but I think they look really cute on my girls.  I have just finished an Ottobre Pinni (which I will blog soon)  I have bought the Farbenmix Pinni, but have also just bought the farbenmix Roberta as well, which would look wonderful on my girls.  I tend to be a tad obsessed with these European patterns at the moment.  They are often quick, and have the ability to be dressed up with your own creativity!

2. What's the one place you want to visit that you've never been to before?

Oh where to start?  We love the snow, we would love to experience Canada.  But we are also very compassionate, so would love to go somewhere where we both use our skills (me a nurse him a tradie) to help.

3. How do you relax?

Not sure I know the meaning of that word... LOL!

I'm very social, so love being around people.

4. What is your favourite holiday.

Holidays, my favourite holidays are more about the people that we were with rather than the location.  Prior to kids we used to go camping a lot with friends, I have a lot of memories from those.  Then there is the European trip we did - which now seems almost like it never happened... then there is the family holidays.  When I say holidays they are more weekend escapes, but hey who is judging!

5. What is one sewing skill you want to learn/try out?

Quilting!  My sewing is not precise enough at the moment for quilting to be successful.  This is because I am so used to rushing things.

6. Can you knit/crochet? Other crafting talents?

I cannot crochet!
I can knit- sort of ;)
I have a tonne of scrap booking stuff that has not been touched in years.
Used to love card making.
Am I talented at any of these- I don't think so... but I do love them.

7. What garment/accessory do you wear the most?

Trackies

8a. How much time do you spend reading blogs?

Like Sara- I tend to read them for about 30min- 1h.

I really take to looking at photos!

8b. Your motto/mantra

"I redifined coping"

or

"what is coping"

what do you do when you go shoe shopping?

I went shoe shopping looking for a pair of boots.  I don't own any boots.

I came home with 4 pairs!

I couldn't choose.  I had a little man with me, and making a choice out of the 4 was harder than I expected.

They were all on special.

And 3 of them will be returned.

Just a couple of pointers if you do the same... 1) make sure your husband is sitting when you tell him. 2) have his favourite meal prepared.  3) make sure you can return them with the receipt, and its not just a credit note.

Now I still have to chose!

Now edited to show off the actual boots!

now before you all say "they all look the same" well yes they sort of do....
The ones on the far left I have returned.  They were too high.
the 2nd pair are Colorado.
The 3rd are another Williams brand
The 4th are Portland.

I am tending to lean towards no 4, the other 2 are, well, after consulting 3 girlfriends they recon that no 2) is too chunky for my leg. 3) doesn't fit properly, and 4) does it!

I Love the Colorado ones, and am hoping to either a) let my DH keep both (whats the chances?!) or b) live through my sister and instead of pitching in towards the camera for her birthday give her these boots or c) get a refund and never think about it again.  I don't want to keep them on their own as they are more funky than most of my wardrobe.  I would love to be funky, but its not happinin!  Don't get me wrong, I'm not baggy and daggy, just not funky.

July Challenge- pleats

I struggled to write that title, I am in total denial that we are up to JULY already!

Anyway, this month is something with pleats.

It might seem like we are leaving out those who don't have kids, or who have boys, so feel free to make something for yourself!

As far as kiddies go, there is a good pattern in Summer Ottobre 2009 that has pleats, as well as a few Oliver & S patterns have pleats.  Myself- I will be making my girls a little denim skirt! Its here, on ETSY.  I have only had the pattern for.. umm... probably over a year!  So best I use it!

So as per usual- sign up below.  And we look forward to seeing your pleats!
