Lets all dig deap inside of us and make ourselves a soft toy.
Now depending on how serious a softie maker you are, really is how much you might play with this toy!
I know for myself I have been meaning to make a Steiner Doll for over a year now! I even took the kids to the shop and very kindly kind of got asked to leave (yes the kids were not behaving, or should I say they were behaving like kids! The staff were very lovely about it though) Anyway, I have been meaning to make this doll for a long time now and I think for myself this is a prime time to do it!
If you would like to sign up, there is no pressure to make yourself a Steiner doll. There are very cute patterns out there for other softies, cute, simple, complex etc... Melly and Me is a good Australian designer, there is also, Vintage Ric Rac, and ill add more when I get some links ;)
They will all have a hand sewing component to them, which I know is going to be my challenge this month as I hate hand sewing! Check out you tube for some tutorials
anyway- arm yourself with some hobbyfill, a needle and thread and sign up now!

Hoping that I don't leave this challenge to the last moment :)
I definitely out this month. No softie making here. Get going with the doll. It's very satisfying to make a Steiner doll IMO. Did you see that Kelly (the handmaden) has put some doll making tips on her blog?
I understand your dislike of hand sewing, but it's great to do in front of the tv. I always detested it, but it's grown on me. All of my Steiner dolls have been completely hand sewn. And you saw me make those flower crowns. You know I've only made one since the retreat! LOL
Amongst other things, I have a pattern for Jodie's (Ric-rac) disco bots. It's probably about time I got started on that!
Well I'm either going to make an improved version of Goth Ella or a day night doll I have not decided yet
I've decided that i am going to try and make a softie a day this month, am i nut? well probably, but the nursery is looking empty and i think that handmade toys by mummy would be nice...
Will i pull it off? well we will just have to wait and see, in the meantime i'm off to make an elephant!
Am I cheating if I sign up? (heh, heh)
I signed up for this one!! Surely I can churn out a softie? I have the cute owl pattern from Melly & Me that has been waiting forever to be made...
I piked out of the Feb challenge (my bad) but I'm definitely in this one. Giddy up horsy! The kids are getting some softies on a broomstick. Looking forward to creating some fond childhood memories for the kids with this one!
Finally signing up for your challenges Carolyn! I've got Audrey & Maudes poppy and her puppies I want to make, and Ric Racs kinder girls. I figure if I sign up then I have to get it done! Renae
I signed up for but wasn't able to do the February challenge, but I can definitely do a softy, which will be donated via The Toy Society method :D
Well i am going to give it a try, if i can get my machine back to working order.
I am making up for not participating in last months challenge, by completing the March challenge so early in the month!! My daughter just loves Hoot on ABC kids, so we whipped one up late yesterday afternoon.
I failed last month, and am behind this month already given I have only just signed on but I will see how I go :)
I also failed last month due to other sewing commitments! But this months challenge is finished already and we're thrilled with the result :)
How are you going Carolyn? Oh and there was only a tiny amount of handsewing in mine, a quick gather stitch at the top of her head :P
I also failed last months challenge couldn't find anything to sew for beginners, but this month i am about to start my softie tomorrow so in a few days i will post up a pic :) I'm glad i'm not the only one who failed a challenge
