EYE SPY- WIP- combined with MY CREATIVE SPACE

Brought to you by Hugo and Elsa and Kootoyoo

Well have you ever known it to be possible to combine 2 different topics. My work in progress is my creative space!

I have been wanting to share this with you in the blog world for a few weeks, but have kept quiet... mainly I think we are so tired from working on it.

Its my sewing room!!

It now has plaster and a roof, and Al is installing the insulation and the down lights as we speak. Its also brought to you by my sisters husband. And funded by K.Rudd!

Its not big, its just right really. Approx 3 X 2.5mt. Its at the back of the garage, and the challenge will be to install a door through to the house, so that I can go in there while my kids are asleep and Im home alone. As it is at the moment you cant hear what happens in the house, where as if there was a door it would be ok. Only the garage is on the ground where as the house is on stumps. So the door is destined to be (affectionately) a 'doggy door'.

So anyway, I need some ideas for decorations. I plan on doing it as neutral as possible so that it doesn't reflect on what I am sewing at the time, with photos, fabric, pictures my kids have drawn all as decoration. What do you think?

Pay It Forward

From here

I will make a handmade gift for the first 3 interested people who comment on this post. I have 365 days to do it in…What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well: you must have a blog and before you leave your comment here, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going.(just cut and paste this one if you like!, which I did)

WWW: who dares to post a pic like this on the net!!

Well, as per usual I'm a typical mother of young kids, with no thought given to what I am wearing. But I am trying! For years my husband has wanted me to buy a matching tracksuit. he is reasonable enough to know that I wont get dressed u each day and tracksuits are comfortable. (the uni i went to was nicknamed the trackydack uni! as everyone wore trackies, might also have something to do with having sports management as one of the courses). Anyway, so after about 13years of nagging I bought myself a matching bonds trackie! And that is what I am wearing.

anyway- this is my best view:

ETA I should just clarify that my husband doesnt have a matching tracksuit to me, I was meaning matching set for me, not a couples matching set.

Happy Birthday Ellise

Dont you love photos that you find

We have got 2 cameras that are not working properly, so we let the kids 'play' with them from time to time, and some of the pictures that we find are really quite funny (and also tell a few stories as the kids are not allowed to jump on the couch, and there are pics of Mitchell jumping on the couch LOL!)

watcha wearing Wedensdays

Well this is my first watcha wearing Wednesday as last Wednesday I missed it.

Anyway, im wearing this:

Yes the little girl and the yought.

Im not a baby wearer, nor am I an attachment parenter, but this little girl is so gorgeous and she is also my little one who likes to be carried. None of the other kids liked to be carried nearly as much as this little one does. With that I end up wearing what ever she is wearing. So none of my clothes are not without stains of youghts, banana, Vegemite, peanut butter and whatever else might be smudged on her face or hands.

Gotta love being a mum!

Lilys pants

Finally I managed to grab some pics of Lilys new pants and top combo. The photos are not top quality as our camera is still not in working order. Some of the photos we have are our way to church as we crossed the car park. No we don't generally let our kids run across a car park. Ellise is wearing the top I made for Lily as I need to move the buttons to fit it better to my little one.
The others are from our front lawn- and its hard rubbish day combined with a little girl who does not want to be photographed.
The fabric is Sandi Henderson Vintage Dots, on medium weight denim. The pattern is one I have had laying around for a little while. They didnt turn out exactly as I had hoped but thats ok, we live and learn.

Eye Spy Sunday- Surprises

Well this is a poor effort on my behalf :( 2 weeks in and I'm already a day behind.

Sundays topic is SUPRISES! By Miss Muggins

It was Easter Sunday, the day that we chose to celebrate Christ resurrecting from the grave 3 days after He was crucified.

But as for eye spy Sunday and surprises, well I'm struggling. Everyone in my life is not good at keeping surprises. I usually get either directly what I have asked for or they show me prior to me receiving it.

2 of my 4 pregnancies (well 5 pregnancies if you inc the miscarriage I had the first time) were surprises. Tyler and Ellise were both 'surprises'. In some ways it was better this way as the decision whether or when to have more kids were taken out of our hands.

Mitchells gender was a surprise to us, although we were told that he had an issue with his kidney- which most of those with this issue were boys! The others were only a surprise to the ultrasound, and mothers instinct were right in all occasions anyway. I would have liked Lilys gender to remain a surprise but the will was weak when it came to the ultrasound. And we also found that she did not have kidney issues, where as both the boys did (Mitchell was the only one requiring surgery and Tylers was resolved by the time he was born)

Mitchell and Tylers date they were born were a surprise, especially Tyler who arrived boxing day 2.5w early!

Oh that's right, a few weeks ago my kids unpacked my shopping for me. It sure was a surprise when they put most of the items in the right spot!

What else, oh our honeymoon was a surprise. It was a gift from my in laws, and it was to Tasmania. I had mentioned about 2 weeks earlier that I thought that Tasmania was a nice honeymoon destination, and the tickets had already been booked by that stage, so that was a nice surprise to be heading off on the ship the day after your wedding.

So I guess I have had a few welcome surprises in my life, it was fun reflecting!

Next week stay tuned for what Badskirt has for eye spy

Parcel full of Sandi Henderson fabric

Wow- you sure get great customer service At Kelani Fabrics . I ordered yesterday and paid for express. She rang me 2 times to confirm my order (as I was not clear) and then I got this in the mail (and some is mine as well)

I would have edited the photos better but was too excited to show everyone.

Now I have to decide what fabrics I am going to use for the patchwork skirt I'm making for Ellise.
