Fed Up!

Well on Tuesday night, I skipped work and went to a FailSafe seminar and it opened my eyes to the word of food additives and their intolerance in our kids. The results that have been found from kids going additive free was outstanding! Its only been in the past 20 years that food has had these nasty additives in them, and its only in the past 20 years that headbanging in toddlers is considered normal behaviour, the incidence of asthma has risen, incidence of IBS etc...

It says that even if we make most things ourselves there is still hidden additives! ie If we buy it there are 20 additives, if we make it there are 19!

Often also people don't make the link between the additive and the reaction as the reaction is often weeks later, and it can also be cumulative.

So next week we are planning to start the elimination diet. We will do this for a few weeks, then start to re- introduce other foods so that we can test what our kids triggers are.

I have the cook book and the book etc... so to absorb as much information as possible before we start. We are not going dairy and wheat free tho, I think that is too much work!

The things that I will be watching for is a) Mitchells concentration span. B) Tylers eczema C) Tylers sleeping habits. I think that will be enough for now tho.

Forum signatures

I just love some of the creations that these lovely people come up with. Often I identify people by their signatures as I forget their names (very visual memory here). One lovely lady on Essential Baby (annikag) did this one for me. The pic was taken by my mum when Lily was only a few days old. Its really pretty. It brings a tear to my eyes as it really represents exactly how I was feeling at the time.

My children are growing up so quickly and I want to tresure each and every moment that I have with them. My little baby is growing so quickly, she wriggles when you try and give her a cuddle as she wants to know what is going on. No more can I rock her to sleep as she is too alert.

kids are so much fun!!

It is rather painful trying to take a photo of 4 kids all at the same time, so here are some efforts as well as some videos of my kids mucking around. I live them so much and love the pics of them just being kids!

These pictures are from today. The kids were playing in the playroom, and I put Lily in her bouncer to interact with her brothers. I came back to find Tyler in the bouncer and Lily in the bumbo.

Lilys dedication

Just a few pictures of Lily on the day that Allan and I had her dedicated.

The dress is made by my Grandmother- my fathers mother. She died about 14years before i was born, before my mum and dad had even met. My father and I figured that the dress was probably over 40 years old! She was obviously a very talented lady as the dress is lovely. Its made from my Aunties wedding dress, and I was dedicated in it, as were most of my cousins and cousins children as well. Ellise wore it too when she was dedicated.

I have not got any long distance pictures of Lily in the dress, just a few snap shots. The others are on my mothers camera and have not been loaded yet. These pics are taken with my Auntie, who was playing and getting lots of coos and smiles from Lily, she is a social butterfly :D

Mothers Day

Mothers Day today. And although i am qualified to be spoilt! I also have a mother that I need to spoil. So yesterday my sister and myself stayed up to the wee hours of the morning making a bag for my mother and her sister (our auntie) who we love dearly. The fabric panel is quilters cotton frangipanies, mixed with a few other fabrics. The back is the same. The sides is green as is the base, and the base is also lined in polar fleece to give it a bit more structure. They both loved the bags, and they plan to use them regularly!

For my mothers day I was treated to breakfast in bed (after getting to bed at 2.30am it was needed!) with fresh garden flowers and a hot cup of tea! I was also given a lovely card from my husband and my kids! My husband had been looking for an analogue clock for our kitchen (that is what i wanted) but he left his wallet at home the day he went to get it- and he also had the 2 boys with him, who are not good at shopping! Thats fine though- I can chose my own clock :)

it solves all of Lilys problems

I have a bub who sucks he thumb! All of the other kids had dummies as they loved to suck but didnt find their thumb! We gave Lily a dummy, but then found her passifying herself with her thumb! And due to this thumb, she is now sleeping through the night. This is bliss! Now i wish the others would follow suit and then I too would be able to sleep through the night.
This is the look when i get out the camera! "whats that in front of your face mummy?"

A mothers dream

I say dream becasue this rarely happens, especially with a daughter who tips water over herself at least 1 time per day, a pre-schooler who lives the outdoors- and mud, another pre-schooler who thinks its his right to change his clothes at least 2 times a day, cloth nappies and a husband who is a tradesman...

ok, finished this blog... off to fold the washing!

working on a pants pattern

I am yet to find a pants pattern for my boys that i am happy with, so yesterday i sat down with my mum and drafted my own pattern! And they fit great. I only made them in fleece, and i dont think they will suit non stretch fabrics, so I will have to get back to the drawing board to make one for non- stretch fabrics. I dont want to show pics coz the tester was very much a tester, not to be shown off *lol*

action shots of the sling

This is what little Lily looks like in the sling. Its hard to believe looking at me, but its actually very cumfortable! And because I have Lily so close to me, it distributes her weight evenly on me and doesnt pull on my neck. I still need to play with it a bit more to learn how to use it properly, but that will come.
Please excuse my look, I have been having too many late nights and its vey cold here atm! (Go the mo-hawk on Lily!)

Thank you Belinda!

Fluffy Mail

They came yesterday, I was so excited!

My Kids

Here is an insite to my life. I love my husband and am proud to be the mother of his children. There are four of them.

Mitchell is my oldest. He is 4.5years old (Sep 03) and a little cheeky monkey! His co-ordinatipon is amazing and we have high hopes for a budding sports star! I love him to bits.

Tyler is 3.5 years old (dec 04) and is a little cheeky monkey too. He is a climber, and his ablility to climb thigs astounds me!

Ellise is just turned 2 (April 06) and is our little strawberry shortcake- or Miss Muffet depending on the day! She is a little strawberry blonde princess who loves her babies as well as her cars and climing with her big brothers.

Lily is the baby of the family- only just born in Jan 08 (so 3 month old). She is a georgeous little copper top as well. She loves cuddles- and i love to cuddle her too. She is a great buba .
